For Organisations
Your people are your your personality, culture, reputation, assets... and some of them are carrying more than you know
The Trauma In Leadership Institute works with organisations across the UK and internationally to identify, address, and prevent the psychological impact of trauma and burnout at every level of leadership.
Our work is clinically grounded, practically delivered, and built around one clear goal: ensuring your people stay well, become well, and lead well, for the long term.
We are a specialist clinical service, and there is nothing else quite like it in Europe.
All engagements begin with a private conversation to understand your needs and determine the most appropriate support. There is no fee for this initial call.
"The goal is to ensure that a difficult event does not become a lasting psychological injury. For your people, or for your organisation."
Recognising The Signs
Trauma doesn't always announce itself in the boardroom.
The goal is to ensure that a difficult event does not become a lasting psychological injury, for your people, or for your organisation.
Key indicators requiring support ->
Performance that has dropped without explanation.
A leader who has changed in behaviour or demeanour
Someone who has been through a significant challenge, and you sense it has affected them, even if you are not fully sure how.
Known challenges are ahead, and a need to ensure this leader is fortified and recovered for the months that follow.
A concern that, without support, things could worsen for this person, and for your organisation.
A team that has fractured after a difficult period and has not recovered.
The executive who keeps the wheels turning, but is quietly falling apart inside.

Individual
Executive Therapeutic Coaching
For CEOs, founders, senior leaders and people managers navigating the psychological cost of high performance and team-ship demands.
Leadership at the top can be relentless. The pressure, the isolation, the weight of accountability, over time these take a toll that standard coaching simply is not equipped to address. Executive Therapeutic Coaching with Anna Pinkerton goes beyond performance. It works at the clinical level, addressing trauma, burnout, chronic stress, and the deep psychological patterns that drive leadership behaviour and make sustainability impossible.
This is a confidential, one-to-one engagement for senior leaders who need something more than a life coach and are ready to invest seriously in their own development, recovery and long-term mental and professional health. It is a genuine clinical partnership, conducted with warmth and directness.
Appropriate For
CEOs, founders, MDs, C-suite executives and people managers experiencing burnout symptoms, relationship breakdown, trauma following significant business events, loss of identity, motivation crises, decision fatigue, generalised and specific anxiety, or the cumulative toll of years at work.

Crisis Response
Critical Incident Debriefing and Support
Specialist clinical response when something life-endangering, mental health challenging or career-threatening has happened.
When a critical incident occurs in your organisation, a workplace accident, sudden loss of a colleague, violent incident, cyber-attack, reputational crisis, or other traumatic event, the way your organisation responds in the hours and days that follow determines the long-term psychological outcome for the people involved.
Generic HR support and standard EAP provision are essential but not equipped to identify and treat acute trauma. We provide clinically informed critical incident debriefing, rapid assessment of individual and team impact, and clear therapeutic recommendations to guide your organisation's response.
This is expert-level intervention delivered by a specialist with clinical training in EMDR II, Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR), and Trauma Resolution Art Therapy (TRAT) protocols, and over three decades of experience supporting individuals through acute traumatic events.
The goal is to ensure that a difficult event does not become a lasting psychological injury, for your people, or for your organisation.
Appropriate For
HR personnel, people leaders, and senior leadership teams responding to traumatic incidents, operational crises, or unexpected loss.

Occupational Harm
Vicarious Traumatisation in the Workplace - Support and Prevention
For leaders and teams who carry responsibilty for others; exposure to challenging and abhorrent material, and all forms of harrassment.
Vicarious traumatisation is one of the most overlooked forms of occupational harm in the corporate world. It occurs when exposure to others' distress, through managing redundancies, supporting struggling team members, witnessing workplace crises, or working with difficult and distressing material, begins to accumulate as trauma in the person exposed to it. In other words an in-direct victim of the abhorrent material.
It is not a sign of weakness. It is a neurological and psychological response to sustained exposure. Left unaddressed, it erodes our inner resources, empathy, energy, and performance of even the most resilient.
The Trauma In Leadership Institute offers assessment, individual support, and organisational programmes specifically designed to identify vicarious traumatisation, interrupt its progression, and build the structural and individual conditions that prevent it from taking hold.
Particularly Relevant For
Organisations in education, health, HR, law enforcement, legal services, trust and safety...or any role involving sustained responsibility for others' safety & wellbeing.

Culture & Teams
Executive Team Culture Assessment and Development
Understanding and addressing the psychological health of your leadership culture.
High-performing teams do not fracture randomly. There are always underlying conditions, unresolved tensions, chronic stress, and untreated trauma cascading through the group. When those conditions go unattended, they compound.
Anna works with executive teams and their organisations to assess the psychological health of their leadership culture, identify the conditions that are limiting performance and cohesion, and deliver a practical, evidence-based development programme to address them. This is not a generic team-building exercise. It is a clinically informed process grounded in the reality of how trauma, burnout, and the team destroyer of Inner Brutality operate in organisational systems.
The result is a leadership team that understands itself better, communicates with less fear and more trust, and finds genuine solidarity through the process of development and growth.
Appropriate For
Boards, executive leadership teams, and People directors seeking to address culture, performance, or cohesion challenges with genuine clinical depth.
